Results from a new peer-reviewed study to be published in the November issue of American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) found illegal online pharmacies are using Twitter to market and sell Percocet®, Vicodin®, Oxycontin®, hydrocodone, fentanyl and oxycodone and other highly addictive and often deadly controlled substances to U.S. consumers, in direct violation of U.S. federal law.

GoodRx, which has saved Americans $3 billion on their prescription medicines since 2011, has joined the Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global).

Up to 45% of Americans struggle with paying for their prescription medicines, 26% don’t fill prescriptions because they can’t afford them, and medication nonadherence costs the U.S. healthcare system up to $289 billion a year.
